The song was featured in the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she wrote about the experience. Mitchell lost her best friend Angela in a road accident. she was only fifteen years old. Mitchell experienced a difficult experience with the loss incident, and Angela was the inspiration behind Mitchell's hit song Angel in her debut album. She also wrote about the incident in the publication Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul and the 7th Heaven episode Nothing Endures But Change.
